The Pasadena City College Lancer Pantry Advisory Committee was created in October 2015 to address food insecurity among PCC students, to increase awareness of hunger and poverty issues affecting our PCC community, and to provide food, hygiene supplies, and referral to off-campus resources to students in need. In late December 2016 Lancer Pantry held its soft opening, paving the way to full operational capability in the Winter 2017 Intersession. The Lancer Pantry held its Grand Opening with the beginning of the Spring 2017 Semester.
The Lancer Pantry Project is operated by the Office of Special Services and generously supported through kind donations from the staff and faculty of Pasadena City College, community partners, PCC alumni and private individuals. The program accepts donations of canned goods and monetary contributions.
LA Envision Lions Club has been partnering up with PCC Lancer Pantry since 2018 and has been making regular donations depending on the needs of the pantry services. The ongoing donations were interrupted during the Covid outbreak, however, LA Envision Lions Club resumed the services in 2021 and made the first donations led by LA Envision Lions Club President, Cindy Wang, on Nov 5th, 2021 and another donations on May 17th, 2022. LA Envision Lions Club has raised over $2,000 in donations to ensure the ongoing commitment to serve The Pasadena City College Lancer Pantry !!
